Mr & Mrs Tippett
Mr Tippett is 73 and has been married for 52 glorious years. He and Mrs Tippett have two sons and four grandchildren. Before retiring, Mr Tippett was a grocer. He and his family had several other businesses including a post office, butchers and hairdressers. He was the first person in the UK to open a mini supermarket within a hospital.
I invested throughout my working life and retired when I was 53. I had always worked with financial advisers, but as each one retired, I would move to whoever they recommended. I am very pleased that I was recommended to work with Kevin in 2003, and that he will be around to advise me for many years to come.
Kevin has advised me on my investments; initially, we invested in higher-risk funds, but as time has gone on, we’ve invested in lower-risk funds to help secure my income as I go through retirement. It’s good to know that someone is looking after my investment portfolios.
Kevin also helped me a great deal with setting up a Power of Attorney, which is very important for estate planning. He continues to review our wills to make sure that they reflect our wishes and ensure that our loved ones will inherit what is due to them.
We meet twice a year in person to discuss the latest investment figures, how I feel about them and what we’ll do next. Kevin is very likeable, but more than anything he is dead straight; I like people I can be straight with!
Kevin has his ear to the ground and keeps me up to date on new laws and regulations which may affect me, such as changes to Inheritance Tax.
I really value Kevin’s advice, especially when he’s telling me to spend my money! Amongst other things, we enjoy holidays in our favourite place, St Palais in South West France.
I enjoy chatting with Kevin. What’s more, I can trust him and know that if I need any financial advice, I can just pick up the phone.
Investment carries risk. The value of your investment (and any income from them) can go down as well as up and you may not get back the full amount you invested. The Financial Conduct Authority does not regulate estate planning.
