At work

I was a Royal Air Force Engineer from 1982 until 1991. I started in financial services with Lloyds Bank in 1992, then went to Whitechurch Securities in 1996. I started a firm called Hicks & McNish LLP in 2003 with George McNish, a Chartered financial planner based in Scotland. In 2019, I set-up KD Financial to focus on serving clients across West Devon and North Cornwall.

My areas of expertise are investment and pension portfolio construction. I enjoy working with all sorts of clients, but especially with those who are approaching or in retirement.

At play

I live on the very edge of Dartmoor, so I love to walk with my partner Mandy and our Black Labrador Sky, either across the moors or the Devon and Cornwall Coastal paths. I love ancient history, especially Egyptian and Sumerian.

I also enjoy long-distance swimming, yoga and meditation.

Telling one of the loveliest clients anyone could ever have that she would be financially sound after tragically losing her husband

Anybody that needs help, who knows they need help and are willing to put their complete trust in you.
